For gay porn lovers, Bob Mizer should be a hero. His early films created for his Athletic
Model Guild in the early '50 are seminal works of gay adult film. He created a genre where
none existed before. This is not the first time his films have been released before. Campfire
has a set of VHS that are being converted to DVD now. Thom Fitzgerald's Beefcake tells the
story of Bob Mizer and we've sold thousands of both. But this is the first time these
archival films have been remastered and released on DVD in their pure form. With only a
simple electronic score added, the AMG boys are presented in all their posing strap glory.
The first three films show three different young men posing in the studio and on the beach.
In all their bronzed, muscled glory these boys shine, even over 50 years later. Don't expect
steroid-pumped muscle men, these are toned, lean bodies -- very scrumptious bodies...
The next seven films portray small groups of young men in campy settings telling a corny
story -- all in posing straps of course. There's the robber in Tijuana, the model who doesn't
want to take his clothes off and even a full costume all-male Cleoptra story. Each of these
films concludes with the boys in a tussle -- all with their posing straps in place! The final
film is obviously a tag-on, it's a the only fully nude and color film made in 1975 -- the
waning years of the studio. It's also a lot of fun, it's just many years later.
For lovers of early gay porn and collectors, this new set is a must!
