SYNOPSIS - LEATHER JACKET LOVE
STORY

REVIEW
Gay male love stories often lure an
audience with the promise of nudity, a
titilation that they rarely deliver. That
can't be said about this odd-couple-in-
lust drama as it boldly fixates its gaze
on the bodies of both the leads: a
blond teen and an older man-stud.
Why bring up the nudity first? Because
that is the best thing going in this
drama. Valley boy and aspiring
writer/poet 18-year-old Kyle (Sean
Tataryn of The Boys of St. Vincent),
bored with his West Hollywood fag
friends, finds his life dramatically
changed after he meets 30-year-old
Mike (Christopher Bradley), a pec-and-
leather working-class carpenter. Yet
despite their differences, the two fall
for each other.

That’s the story, but the more
interesting aspect of the film (other
than the flesh) is the ‘90s L.A. scene it
captures. For within this bubbled gay
universe lies nothing but gay bars,
restaurants, gyms and pool side
mansions populated by beautiful
twinkies, mustached muscle men,
denim daddies and leathered
motorcycle queens. Forget the story,
buy it for its travelogue values!
